InterExchange Au Pair USA is a non-profit agency that matches host families with au pairs from over 40 countries around the world. We offer quality, affordable child care with an international accent. Combining low-program costs with superior service and support, InterExchange Au Pair USA specializes in creating authentic cross-cultural connections between host families and au pairs.
The NC Triangle region is fortunate to have two Local Coordinators to assist host families and au pairs to ensure the experience is positive for everyone. Suzanne Miller assists families in the Raleigh area (Wake Forest, Zebulon, Clayton, Garner, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina), and Mary Beth Grealey assists in the Chapel Hill area (Durham, Hillsborough, Pittsboro, and Burlington). Host Families must live within an hour’s drive of the Local Coordinator. If you live outside the areas mentioned, contact us to see if you qualify.
What is an Au Pair?
Au pairs are young adults between the ages of 18 and 26 who come to the United States on J-1 Visas and live as an extended member of their host family. Au pairs provide up to 45 hours per week of live-in child care in exchange for room, board, and a small weekly stipend. Au pairs expose families to other cultures, languages, and customs, offering valuable cross-cultural experience. Au pairs are also one of the most affordable child care options available, especially for families with more than one child. The average cost is $355/week regardless of the number of children.
Why choose InterExchange Au Pair USA?
InterExchange Au Pair USA is one of the only non-profit companies designated by the U.S. Department of State to sponsor au pairs. With more than 20 years of experience and membership in the International Au Pair Association (IAPA), you can be confident that we have the knowledge and qualifications to match you with the perfect au pair!
